Weekly Photo Challenge: Unusual

This week’s photo challenge, calls for an image that represents something unusual to me. So, I picked this photo, taken during this past holiday season. A replica of the Pinta and the Nina, (Columbus ships) sailed into town for an exhibit, and promptly anchored at Fisherman’s Village Marina in Punta Gorda, FL.

I just had to go see if I could take a picture; after all, this is not the usual type of vessel that is normally found at the marina. I am so glad I was able to take this shot! The ship looks so magnificently out-of-place in this environment; but hey, it served my purpose!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Contrast

This week’s photo challenge? Contrast, got me thinking and set me off on a digital search through my computer files. I remembered having these pictures and wanted to share them, so here they are. My daughter, Natalie, took these during a visit to Miami‘s Metro Zoo now known as Zoo Miami. The colors contrast beautifully, flamingos strutting their pink and the cranes in white look beautiful against the green water. And, you can see the duck’s “feet” doing their thing underwater. I guess we cannot compete with mother nature!

I am swimming away, no photos please,,,
Pink flamingos? Yes, we do exist!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Distorted

Louvre Museum, Paris-from the inside looking out...

Taken a few years ago, during my first (and hopefully, not last) trip to Paris this picture is one of my favorites, and was the first thing I thought of to fit the “distorted” theme of this week’s photo challenge. Taken from inside the museum, it shows a beautifully “distorted” view.

Louvre at night

The pyramid, at the entrance of The Louvre Museum, was designed by I.M. Pei, and completed in 1989. It is a magnificent structure that takes your breath away when viewed from any angle, especially at night in its lighted splendor, spectacular!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Down

This week’s photo challenge was to post a picture that means “down” to us. What do we see when we look down? This challenge was not too difficult for me to achieve since as many of you know by now, my bucket is full with three little people who actually spend a lot of time down on the floor; granddaughter one, Lauryn, is 3 years old now and walking and running at will; while the other two have just discovered the art of mobility.

Come down here Grandma

Eight month old Elisa (shown here) is at that stage in an infant’s life where she just has discovered how to get from point A to point B, by crawling anywhere she wants to. While  Sydney, her younger cousin 6 months old, is on the race to catch-up with her. The funny thing for grandma, is making sure she stays in shape and active enough to keep up with all these busy bodies. Grandma Heaven, yeah!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Regret

Shoes are off...feet are hurting!

I know most ladies can relate to this dilemma; this is what happened to my shoes recently, after a couple of hours of Salsa dancing that went on until after midnight. I had a blast but my shoes had to go. Thank goodness for flat shoes!

As my hubby always says…”as long as you look sexy, who cares right? An ongoing joke for more than 30 years, gotta love him–and I do! I would have regretted not bringing my flat dancing shoes with me, LOL

Have a great weekend y’all!
