Weekly Photo Challenge: Curves

The beauty of Louisiana State Cabildo in New Orleans, this architecture is on display throughout NOLA’s streets.

I took this shot from across the street at Jackson Square, of The Louisiana State Museum Cabildo during our recent visit to New Orleans. It was a beautiful night and we were out looking for a place to eat but could not resist stopping to take in the sight and snap a couple of pictures.

I must go back to this beautiful city ASAP!

Happy New Year!

Christmas time in New Orleans
Christmas time in New Orleans

I missed the Christmas greetings last week but I have a great excuse, I was traveling around celebrating the holidays with family; especially the little ones, yes all three granddaughters together in one place, Orlando. Grandma’s heaven for sure!

Making a list and checking it twice with NOLA’s Santa! Lauryn and dad (Michael)

I will come back next week to update you on all the excitement of the season and the New Orleans trip. In the meantime, here are a couple of photos I took during my travels.

Happy New Year, stay safe and enjoy the festivities, I’ll be doing the same!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Purple

I have been busy, really busy this past month. All sorts of life events, vacations, babysitting gigs out-of-town, family illnesses, birthdays, baptisms and I am sure I forgot something else. The upside? I have spent the month of July in the company of my most beloved people and feel happy and fulfilled. I think I am now ready to resume blogging duties, unless of course…life gets in the way.

The Purple House in Punta Gorda, FL

I missed a few of the photo challenges and rather than attempt to catch up by back-posting, I will jump right in here with my purple submission. As soon as I saw this prompt, I knew I had to go down to Punta Gorda to snap some pictures of the “purple house” I frequently drive by. The choice of color always puts a smile on my face, not something I would have picked myself…but I absolutely love how it looks with its white trim; especially on an old traditional Florida home such as this one. And below… the slowly fading purple of our crepe myrtle tree. Aah, nature!

Orlando Museum of Art

Perfect! I was wondering how to use these pictures I took a couple of weeks ago during one of my many visits to Orlando. Lately, I am on a quest to find things to do that have nothing to do with the usual (Disney, Universal) Orlando attractions. So on this weekend, we happily headed to the Orlando Museum of Art to take in the latest exhibits. Naturally, they did not allow pictures taken inside the museum, but I had enough material to keep me busy with the sculptures that adorn its entrance. And, as a bonus the “Orlando International Fringe Festival” was going on outdoors, right on the grounds of the museum. Food, art and strange sightings. Who am I to complain? LOL

On the fringe? Festival performers…

That was so relaxing, let’s go home now

The creative folks abound all around us!

Weekly Photo Challenge: Unfocused

Did I capture the super moon tonight? Yes, I think so. But I also got some blurry shots. Still, it was worth the effort for this week’s photo challenge–Unfocused.  http://bit.ly/JbKlUm

Super moon? Really? I have to see that
Clouds in the way. The Super Moon is due to come out on Cinco de Mayo, not today..
Cinco de Mayo Super Moon, still unfocused but seen clearly from my driveway, LOL
